It is being called the world’s cheapest new car. Priced at just $2500 – the makers of India’s Tata Nano says it aims to meet the needs of the country’s growing middle class. But critics say the Nano will lead only to more congestion on India’s roads, and increase air and noise pollution. Matt McClure has more from New Delhi.

Well the point of the nano is to be cheap,to have high mpg and its parts to be relatively cheap. The parts for the a4 are still high. I’m not saying that i would choose the a4 over the nano its just that they’re in a different class…

Not the cheapest… I bought a volvo for $1500 that is faster, safer, larger, and will probably last longer. Are there no decent used cars in India? This story makes little sense. Will people make fun of you there if you have a 10 year old Honda, Renault, or Ford?
